金砂街道是广东省汕头市金平区下辖的街道，位于金平区东中部，辖区约2.57平方千米，下设10个社区，街道办事处设在明烟路2号。[1][2]街道因办事处驻地金砂村而得名，1960年设立。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

金砂街道设立于1960年，最初归汕头市郊区；1970年改隶红卫区，1979年9月，公园区恢复旧名，街道转入其下。[1][2]1980年新设金砂区，街道由它管辖；1991年11月，金砂区与公园区合并成金园区，街道也随着划入。[2]2003年3月，经国务院批准，金园区同升平区合并，成为金平区，街道自此属金平区。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

街道东面以东厦路同金厦街道分界，南面沿金砂路与护堤路，邻石炮台、大华、光华三个街道；西面是梅溪河和潮护路；北面到党校路、金丰路、下岐报本路一线，另一侧是东墩、岐山街道。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网记载，辖区面积2.567平方千米，居民16608户，共58961人。[2]街道设10个社区居委会，其中东、南、西、北四门各一个，另有金丰、金韩、金陵、金新、金华和大窖。[2]百度百科则记2011年末辖区常住居民7.69万人。[1]两处数字所指年份不同，口径也未必一致，故并存于此。

金砂路、汕樟路、金湖路、金新路、东厦路是辖区的主要道路；东门、南门、西门、北门四个社区的名称，来自它们在金砂乡中所处的方位。[3]

辖区内有多家本地机构：汕头华侨中学1932年办学，老校区在金砂路39号，据百度百科是全国最早的公办华侨中学，2023年4月获准迁往新溪片区的华侨经济文化合作试验区；[4]汕头市第四人民医院创办于1958年，总部设金湖路50号，以精神卫生诊疗为主要特色，是三级专科医院；[5]金平区妇幼保健院建于1991年，院址金新路109号；[6]此外，汕头日报社、金平区公安分局和金砂派出所也在街道范围内。[3]
