石楼围在汤坑社区，离街道办事处约4千米，旁边有楼角、赤子香、油社三村。清代中期，罗姓先祖从兴宁迁来建村，因旧时多角楼而叫石楼围，曾名石头围。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

2015年末户籍人口124人，世居以罗姓为主。村内留有清代的客家围屋石楼世居，有夯土墙和灰瓦顶。[1]

传统上种水稻、甘蔗，也种过石硖龙眼、桂味荔枝。清明节的萝卜糕、艾粄是村里的特色食品；每年农历八月初三，罗姓后人备三牲到赤坳墓园祭祖。2005年成立股份合作公司，集体经济靠出租厂房和房屋，2015年租金收入约100万元。[1]
