仙湖社区在莲塘街道北部，南以国威路为界，北靠梧桐山，西北沿山势到仙湖植物园，面积6.8平方千米，其中包括仙湖植物园。[1]社区因辖区内的仙湖而得名。[2]

仙湖社区居委会设立于2002年。[1]

仙湖植物园于1983年兴建，1988年正式开放，占地668万平方米。[4]园内有弘法寺。[5]
