1958年设上西坑大队，1983年设乡政府，1987年为村委会，1989年为管理区，1998年设村委会，沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，上西坑村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年广东省卫生村，2024年3月命名。[1]
