铁龙镇位于广东省韶关市翁源县西部，东面与新江镇相邻，南面是英德市，西北面是韶关市曲江区，辖区面积95.86平方千米。[1]镇的前身是1959年设立的国营广东省铁龙林场，现行建制于2019年11月8日挂牌成立；2020年11月1日的常住人口为3970人，下辖1个社区、3个行政村。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代铁龙属翁源下乡的铁龙铺（1820年全县分上、下两乡，共28铺）；1937年废铺设区、乡后，为第四区铁龙乡。[3]「铁龙」二字取自两个旧地名：一是上铁场、下铁场，鸦片战争后曾有英国人在此采铁炼铁；一是南面山坳龙眼圳，相传出产龙眼。新中国成立初，县里设小乡并以此命名，隶新江管理区。[3]

此后的建制屡有更替：1959年省政府批准办国营铁龙林场（全称冠「广东省」），1963年建林场党委；1984年设铁龙乡；1994年设铁龙镇，与林场合署办公，一套人员两块牌子。[3]翁源县政府网的沿革则写作：1986年11月撤区并乡时设铁龙乡，1993年9月改为镇。[5]2004年镇的建制撤销，此后只剩林场。到2019年，省民政厅于10月11日批复同意翁源县调整新江镇区划并设铁龙镇，11月8日挂牌成立。[1][3][5]

地理与人口[edit]

镇域属亚热带季风气候。[1]林场时期的资料称，年均气温19.4℃，年降水量1778毫米；山林约14万亩，耕地5400多亩，林下出冬菇、木耳、竹笋、灵芝和茶叶；京珠高速公路、广韶公路经过场区。[2]当时场内划为三个农业工区、一个社区居委会，设33个村民小组，共5962人。[2]

经济[edit]

据林场时期的介绍，2012年前后，场内累计有33家引进的企业，规模以上的占9家，当年工业总产值为13.25亿元。[2]百度百科则记2019年末镇内工业企业共46家，规模以上的有5家。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

铁龙洞（原名水龙洞）在镇内，是形成于两亿多年前的石灰岩溶洞，1984年发现，2002年5月1日对外开放。全洞共八个洞，已开发的主龙洞沿地下河伸入，长1665米，面积约10100平方米，有四处龙潭，洞内有「世纪之吻」「地下长城」等钟乳石景观。[4][6]
