白莲村是董塘镇的一个行政村。村名的来历，是早年村里有口池塘，塘水清、泥土肥，满池白莲，花开时洁白如玉。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国初是白莲乡，公社化时期成为白莲大队；1984年复乡，其后依次改称村委会、管理区，1998年撤销管理区，重新设立村民委员会，名称一直是白莲。[1]

2019年9月，白莲村入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
