历史沿革[edit]
居委会的源头是1965年的“街道服务站”，1970年变成墟镇大队，1982年大队撤销，改设居委会，名称没有再变。[1]地名取自古时董姓人家在董塘河南岸置居并开设圩场之事。[1]
2019年9月，董塘社区入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
董劝书院位于社区所在的镇墟，2019年4月19日公布为「第九批广东省文物保护单位」，旧址名为工农革命独立第四团团部旧址。[1]
