留东村是广州市南沙区黄阁镇最北端的行政村，与番禺区隔河相邻、与东涌镇相连，市南路、黄沙快线和东部快速干线经过村域。[1][2] 村在骝岗山东侧，50年代初建农会时叫“骝东”，后来简写成现名“留东”。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
这一带原属乌洲，称“乌洲大围”；清代《香山县志》有“海中七骝（山），第七骝常伏海中不见”的记载，当时是一片海，后由泥沙冲积成陆。民国时期归中山县九区、十五区管辖；1959年7月转入番禺县黄阁公社；1972年由乌洲分设出骝东生产大队；1987年起设村民委员会；2005年同黄阁镇一道转入南沙区。[2][1]
人口经济[edit]
村域约4800亩，户籍人口2536人（百度百科所载，未注年份）；原有耕地4000亩已征用，预留经济发展用地约646亩，计划建厂房、仓库和商住房。[1] 为配合南沙开发，266户村民搬入麒麟新村居住。[2]
