新街村是广州市花都区新华街道辖下的村，广州北站就在村域内。村名取自旧时的新街集市和邻近的新街车站（今广州北站）；博雅地名网另有以「新街社区」为名的词条（区划代码440114001004），所载沿革即这个村的沿革。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

新街一带原有㘵心、望岗、四和、钟村四处，1958年各立大队，五年后合并成四和大队。「四和」之名在1967年被认为不合时宜，于是依邻近的新街车站改叫新街大队；村委会则要到1985年才成立。[1]

1987年1月，村属新华区公所；同年3月起归新华镇人民政府；2005年新华镇改设街道后，隶属新华街道办事处。2026年1月，博雅地名网记载它获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]

交通[edit]

广州北站的前身是新街火车站，1908年随粤汉铁路建成通车而启用，据说村名也由车站而来。花都汽车客运站和广清高速公路的新华出口同在村域内。[2]

著名人物[edit]

曾日全是黄花岗七十二烈士之一，出自新街村。村人钟伯滔在1978年当选全国人大代表。[2]
