沙湾东村，官方文件多写作沙湾东村，是广州市番禺区沙湾街道下辖的行政村，位于沙湾中心城区北部，距广州市区约20公里。[1]明朝时这里浮出沙洲，称大沙，因处最东端而名东村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网记载：明朝时此地露出水面形成沙洲，叫大沙；村子在其东端，所以称东村。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

村域面积约1平方千米，分五大坊、十一个生产队，总人口约2860人，其中2745人为股民；收入以出租厂房、商铺和土地为主，年收入约650万元。[1]

文化[edit]

村里有东村飘色协会和沙湾东村群艺乐社，文化活动较多。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年11月，沙湾东村入选「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」名单。[1]
