紫坭社区是广州市番禺区沙湾街道下辖的社区，设于2000年代初，由原紫坭糖厂一带的居民区发展而来。[1]「紫坭」一名有两种说法，一说村中小山的泥土多呈紫红色，一说村里曾出过一位探花，获皇帝赐予紫袍玉带和土地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1999年，在紫坭糖厂的范围内设立紫糖居委会；2002年9月，沙湾社区西南一块划出另立，名紫坭社区；2004年4月两社区合并，仍称紫坭社区。[1]

该地名在同治版和民国版《番禺县志》中多写作「紫泥」，民国以后才逐渐改用「紫坭」。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，社区被广州市住房和城乡建设局确定为2021年绿色社区；2024年11月，入选「2024年广州市充分就业社区」名单。[1]
