庙头社区是广州市黄埔区穗东街道下辖的社区，由原南岗镇庙头村转制而来，辖区约6.57平方千米，东邻南湾社区，南隔珠江与番禺相望。[1]“庙头”之名来自境内的南海神庙。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据广州市民政局的地名介绍，庙头村相传始于西晋泰始元年（265年），古名古斗、古兜，晋人裴渊《广州记》提到“古斗”是出海的起点；隋文帝下诏建南海神庙后，才改称庙头。[3]

庙头村于1984年设村民委员会；黄埔区2002年撤镇设街时，该委员会被撤销，改由庙头社区居民委员会管理，名称一直沿用。[1]

地理环境[edit]

社区的西界是广江路，东接南湾，北边越过龙头山与夏园、双沙相连，南端伸到珠江里的大蚝沙岛。[1]

博雅地名网所引社区情况，称有常住人口3275人，另有流动人口4781人，统计年份不详。[1]

文化[edit]

每年农历二月十一至十三日，社区内举行“波罗诞”庙会，祭祀南海神，2011年列入国家级非物质文化遗产名录；庙头另以波罗粽和波罗鸡闻名。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

南海神庙又称波罗庙，隋开皇十四年（594年）始建，位于社区境内，2013年列为全国重点文物保护单位。[2][3]庙前的“海不扬波”石牌坊建于清代，为三间四柱二楼式。[3]神庙西南的章丘岗上建有浴日亭，唐代所建，平面方形，歇山顶，“扶胥浴日”曾为羊城八景之一。[3]庙头大街上的黄埔岑氏宗祠建于清乾隆十六年（1751年）；庙头路的张氏大宗祠，则在2015年8月被列为第八批广州市文物保护单位。[1]
