夏园社区隶属广州市黄埔区穗东街道，在黄埔区东北部，南边是横窖河，总面积约4.38平方千米，下分13个居民小组，前身为夏园村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
建国之初，夏园属番禺七区。公社化后先称夏园大队，1965年更名东风大队，1969年后改回。此后依次为1983年的夏园乡、1987年的夏园村民委员会，2002年撤村改居后设夏园社区居民委员会。[1]
关于村名，地名资料讲了这样一段来历：徐氏十二世祖的孙女嫁入洪姓人家，洪家送来一座菜果园，叫“夏园”；徐公便领着五个儿子到园中盖屋定居，村子因而得名。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]
南园徐公祠坐落在兴贤坊街14号，朝向东，三间两进，建于明万历年间，后在1926年、1998年两度修缮。另一座松石徐公祠，族人称建于清康熙年间，2003年修缮，为三间三进的硬山顶建筑。[1][2]
