2001年10月，新滘镇撤镇建街，当地设西滘一居委会、西滘二居委会，2005年两者合并为西滘社区居委会，名称沿用至今[1]。
荣誉[edit]
在广州市住房和城乡建设局2021年11月公布的「广州市2021年绿色社区」名单[1]。
