江南中街道是广州市海珠区的一个街道，属广东省，地处海珠区西北部，以贯穿辖区的主干道江南大道中得名，下辖16个社区，街道办事处设在江南西路青竹大街。[1][2] 辖区东面与昌岗、素社两个街道相接，西接龙凤街道，北与海幢街道、滨江街道相邻。[1] 1984年12月，原小港街道的南村和江南新村划出，另立此街道；1998年7月又与小港街合并重组。[1][2] 街道以江南西路商业街为中心，是海珠区的老商业区。[2][4]
历史沿革[edit]
清代，这一带属番禺县茭塘司，称南田村，又叫南村。民国七年（1918年），此地划入广州市，归蒙圣区管辖。[1][2]
新中国成立后，1950年初在此设南田行政街，1953年并入云桂村，街名改为小港。到1984年底，南村与江南新村自小港街道分出，江南中街道由此成立。[2]
据博雅地名网所引的街道介绍，1998年7月，原小港街与江南中街合并，仍用江南中街之名；2001年2月建立街工委，最初在前进路万松园六号之一办公。[2]
地理环境[edit]
街道位于海珠区中部偏西北，东与昌岗街道、素社街道相邻，西南接沙园街道，西与龙凤街道毗邻，北、西北与海幢街道为邻，东北连滨江街道。[1] 辖内的主要马路是江南大道中、江南西路，以及前进路、南田路。[2] 面积有两种记载：百度百科为1.4平方千米，博雅地名网为2.36平方千米。[1][2] 地铁2号线设江南西站，位于辖区内。[3]
人口[edit]
2011年末，街道户籍人口为69492人；2020年第七次全国人口普查时，常住人口为7.56万人，在海珠区18个街道中排第12位。[1][2]
经济[edit]
江南西路是辖区的商业主街，被称为“河南北京路”。2001年6月，它被国家质量技术监督局列入首批创建“购物放心一条街”的名单，同年7月又获国家工商行政管理局授予“打假维权消费满意商业街”称号。[2] 以这条商业街为核心的江南西商圈形成于20世纪80年代。[4] 2022年9月，海珠区把江南西路（自宝岗大道至江南大道中）连同周边背街小巷的改造列为“江南文商旅融合圈”的一期项目开工，预定2023年春节前竣工；改造向紫玉、紫山、紫金、紫龙、紫丹、青葵、青柳等大街延伸。[4]
据百度百科，2011年街道的工业总产值为27.9979亿元，社会商品销售总额3.1424亿元。[1]
社区治理[edit]
街道搭建了由街道党工委、社区党委和楼宇（网格）党支部组成的三级党组织服务体系，并在无物业、无业主委员会、无维修基金的楼宇小区设立“善治先锋”自治组织。据2024年7月的报道，街道已召开居民议事会370场。[5] 街道还组建“益江南”党群志愿服务队，据同一报道约有1043名队员；杏园社区一位老党员发起并推动了旧楼加装电梯，被作为社区自治的例子讲述。[5]
名胜古迹[edit]
万松园原为清代嘉庆年间南海伍氏的别墅园林，现仍作为万松园社区、万松园小区的地名保留。[2]
