建设街道是广东省广州市越秀区下辖的街道，辖区约0.91平方千米，下设9个社区，街道办事处设在建设五马路18号。[1]街道于1986年成立，名称取自境内的建设新村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，这一带归番禺县鹿步司管辖；民国元年（1912年）以后划入广州市大东区。[1]1950年起，辖区内各部分分属黄花岗乡和大东街。[1]1986年1月建设街道成立，隶属当时的东山区；2005年之后归越秀区管辖。[1]

街道下属的居民委员会大多由大东街道的居委会分出：1986年建设街道成立时，原大东街一带的居委会改按序号称建设街第几居委会，1988年起陆续按所在道路命名，1998年行政区域调整时又有几个居委会合并，沿用至今的社区格局由此形成。[2][3]

人口与区划[edit]

全国第七次人口普查登记的街道人口为4.17万人，按人数排在越秀区各街道的第16位。[1]街道下辖六马路、中马路、二马路、大马路、黄华南、黄华塘、黄华北、旧北园和麓湖路9个社区，全部属于统计上的主城区类别。[1][4]

经济[edit]

境内有一座名为市政中环大厦的商业综合体，其商场部分叫保利中环广场，开发方为保利发展控股，2011年开业。[4]街道政务服务中心在建设五马路23号，内部装修期间（2023年7月至2024年4月）曾迁往临时场地办公。[4]

荣誉[edit]

2019年12月，建设街道进入第三批智慧健康养老示范街道（乡镇）的公布名单；在2024年和2025年的「活力街道全国500强」榜单中分别列第153名和第246名。[1]
