彩虹街道在广州市荔湾区中北部，辖区面积1.06平方千米，下分11个社区。[1][2]街道成立于1985年10月，办事处设在中山八路周门南街27号；街道名称来自境内的彩虹桥。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

街道成立于1985年10月，属荔湾区。[1][2]名称缘于古桥彩虹桥：博雅地名网称桥建于宋代[2]，澎湃新闻转述的说法则是南汉时期所建，桥跨驷马涌，是古代广州城西的出口通道，远望如彩虹横挂；附近的彩虹曲苑、彩虹文化广场等地名由此而来。[4]

地理环境[edit]

街道东邻金花街道，南面与逢源、昌华两街道相接，西靠南源街道，北连站前街道。[1]主要道路有中山八路、荔湾路、西华路和周门路。[2]地铁5号线、8号线和11号线在境内设有中山八站和彩虹桥站。[3]

人口与经济[edit]

按2020年第七次全国人口普查，街道常住人口为56116人。[1]2011年的工业总产值为10.01亿元，比2010年多9.1%；当年社会消费品零售总额10.70亿元，多11.9%。[1]街道的社区服务中心设在园中园小区内。[2]

行政区划[edit]

街道辖荔溪、幸福、环彩、冼家庄、荔景、中兴、西园、周门、党恩、宝石、园中园11个社区，居委会的地址和电话见荔湾区政府网站。[5]其中宝石社区因早年有宝石轴承厂得名，党恩社区则由安置水上居民上岸的楼房而来。[2]
