井口村在坂中畲族乡西部，距乡政府约15公里，海拔250米。村子又称「井湖」，早年叫「卓林」，原为卓姓汉人的聚居地，后来一度荒废。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代，这里隶属福安县用儒乡钦德里的十五都；到清光绪十年（1884年），改编入十六都。进入民国后，1929年为穆阳区蓬山乡所辖，民国三十一年（1942年）依旧属蓬山乡，至民国三十五年（1946年）则成为福安县蓬山乡下的井口堡。1950年划为福安县第一区的许井乡，1961年转入城关区，1966年纳入坂中公社。1984年建立井口村委会，此后归坂中畲族乡管辖。[1]
地理环境[edit]
全村耕地1080亩，其中水田860亩、农地220亩；山地2524亩。村内下辖9个自然村，编为13个村民小组。[1]
经济[edit]
以农业为主，种植粮食、茶叶、蔬菜与水果；农闲时村民兼营手工艺，其中编篾一项最为出名。[1]
公共设施[edit]
村内有一所1990年建成的小学，面积500平方米，现兼作本村避灾点。村委楼建于2002年，另有一座文化中心。[1]
