新城社区是湾坞镇下辖的社区，位于镇中心区，2018年依托原福安市机械化养鸡场设立。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年，福安市养鸡场成立。国家推进农垦改革后，2018年12月，福安市人民政府批复同意成立湾坞镇新城社区居民委员会，依据为安政文（2018）576号文件，以原机械化养鸡场为依托组建。[1]

地名由来[edit]

社区是新设立的居民委员会，又是农垦改革中新建的，故取名「新城」。[1]
