双溪社区是双溪镇的镇区社区，镇政府所在地。[1] 清代屏南县的县城设在这里，直到1950年前一直是旧县治所在。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区在屏南县东北部。202省道从境内穿过，宁武高速屏南连接线在此设有互通口，区内最高处海拔1453米。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

下辖4个连队与28个生产队；全社区1325户、4003人，常住2679人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年划入第四区。1958年并入双溪公社，成为双溪大队。1984年撤社建乡后改称双溪村，归双溪乡管辖；两年后乡改为镇，村委会仍在镇下。2003年6月改称双溪社区居民委员会，这一名称沿用至今。[1]

文化[edit]

社区里保留着文庙、城隍庙、瑞光塔与旧县衙，周边还有南安桥遗址。[1][2]

2012年12月，社区列入「第一批中国传统村落」名录；2021年11月，被命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
