东澳社区位于三沙镇驻地西南侧，东面与五澳社区相接，西面与西澳社区相接，南面临东澳口。「澳」指海边弯曲可以停船的地方，社区名称因其位于东边而定。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
东澳居委会成立于1966年，1972年一度并入三沙街委，1976年重设。2005年转为社区居委会，2012年正式以东澳社区之名运作，2022年迁至新址，地名延用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予东澳社区「2021年福建省卫生村」的称号。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
辖区内有妈祖大殿、教堂，并临近天然的东澳渔港与东澳口沙滩。[2]
