墩头村是赤溪镇的行政村，位于镇区东南约3.2公里，后塔冈山东北侧，海拔约700米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：先民在此开荒，见山上平坦如洋，且居于溪水上游，初名洋头。因与八都的洋头重名，改称墩头。[1]

1958年组建大队，1984年改为村民委员会。村中古建筑有清康熙时期的宫一座。[1]

人口民族[edit]

全村共112户、443人，分为8个村民小组。本村籍大学学历的人有14人。[1]

经济[edit]

耕地631亩，以稻谷、无公害茶叶为主产。林地4711亩，其中有林地4437亩；林木中松、杉、水杉与杂木居多。[1]

村内设有村委会楼、教学楼和医疗站，另有一家茶厂。村中有百年红豆杉数棵。[1]
