梅溪村位于霍童镇西南部，海拔780米，位于八岩顶山西南侧，距镇区约12.8公里，是全镇海拔最高的山区村。[1]

相传古时有汤姓人家来此开基，见梅花落满溪面，遂以梅溪为村名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年设大队，1984年改设村委会。[1]

村所在的梅坑老区包括坑头、上洋、后洋、梅溪四个行政村，老区内设有宁德县苏维埃政府旧址。[3]

地理环境[edit]

据蕉城区人民政府2022年12月发布的村情页，村域面积约2.6平方公里，村中耕地539亩，林地21800亩。[2]
