西林村位于七都镇西南部，在镇区西南3.5公里，104国道西侧。村名取自村后旧有的一片原始树林[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

1958年设大队，1984年转为村委会[1]。

人口与经济[edit]

村辖10个自然村，即东坑、安碑、冬院、下长岐、外长岐、里长岐、水尾、牛埕、盘山与西林。全村设12个村民小组，共227户，人口897人，畲族占65户、210人，常住人口468人，大学文化以上5人[2]。

林地4211亩，耕地712亩。农业为本，主产稻谷、茶叶和甘薯；水果有草莓、香瓜、龙眼、荔枝和脐橙，林业有松木、杉木和竹[2]。

古迹[edit]

村内宝花寺建于唐宝历元年（825年），乾隆三十一年（1766年）重修，寺内一株古荔枝树中空，高约10米，直径约1米[2]。香林寺于乾隆三十九年（1774年）重修，今存[2]。村中水库建于1959年[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，西林村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
