拱桥镇位于漳平市西南部，距市区14公里，辖8个行政村，镇政府驻拱桥村。新安溪穿镇而过，城区饮用水取自其中游的大坂三级水库。镇名取自拱桥圩的一座古桥：清康熙三十年（1691年）此处建起一座带亭的石拱桥，先以桥名村，后由村名镇。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清中叶以前，拱桥一带属永福里留田社。[3] 1934年这里划入第二区（永福）的新安联保，1940年改为新安乡，1944年并入永福镇。[2] 1949年成立新安乡，随后更名拱桥乡。1958年归入党泰公社，1961年才另立拱桥公社。1984年恢复设乡，1995年改为镇。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域国土面积106平方千米，耕地6738亩，林地13.4万亩，森林覆盖率为84.28%。[1] 新安溪河长22.2公里，属九龙江北溪支流。城区饮用水源地平均每日实际取水1.3万吨。[1] 2007年，一级保护区0.44平方千米、二级保护区63.33平方千米先后经省政府核定；取水点设在梧地村桥头，属省控断面。[1]

矿产资源[edit]

镇内有2个煤矿，其中箭竹坪煤矿归属「福建省能源石化集团有限责任公司」；另有4个石灰石矿、2家建筑用砂岩矿、1家石英石矿和1家石墨矿。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据镇政府网站，全镇登记户籍的有8433人；约3000人常住在镇上，其中约1500人为矿山企业务工人员。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇境内的景观与人文资源包括罗山梯田、蕉山自然保护区、龙子山，以及岩高乌龙峡谷、上界荷园、罗山红色文化资源。[1] 龙孝岩漂流在下界村，以亲子与孝道为主题，河道落差达105米，漂流路线长约7公里。[4] 镇里常态化举办荷花节和漂流节。[1]
