桂坑村位于闽赣交界处，与江西省会昌县、寻乌县相邻，省道309线穿村而过，是东留镇内重要的边境村落之一。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名源自村中三棵古老的桂花树。[1]
解放前此地称桂坑保，解放后先后设桂坑乡、桂坑公社，1958年成立桂坑大队，1984年改为村委会。[1]
第二次国内革命战争时期，红军与农民赤卫队曾在桂坑文昌宫一带，与当时的反动势力及地方民团发生激烈战斗。[1]
文化[edit]
2021年11月，桂坑村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2022年12月，绿化委员会授予桂坑村「2022年福建省森林村庄」称号，同月又被确定为「2022年度福建省一村一品专业村」，产品为石参。2024年6月，桂坑村入选「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
