新湖村位于武平县中堡镇东北部，离集镇约11公里；村子四周都在梁野山保护区之内。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村址地形像湖，原称吉湖，取吉祥之意；建国后改称新湖。[3]

民国时为上中乡的吉湖保；建国后成为新湖村，1952年称新湖乡；1958年时属林助乡，公社化后另设新湖大队，归林坊公社；1965年改归中堡公社；1984年设新湖村委会，属中堡镇。[2]

2024年1月，新湖村获授予2023年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」称号。[1]
