新山村位于湖洋镇东南部，距上杭县城约14公里。村名由来：村子原叫新寨背，因村中多山、林密竹茂，改称新山。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1929年，此地建立中共野山党支部，并设立乡苏维埃。民国时为新山保；1949年解放初设新山农会分会，归信和区管辖；1951年设新山乡，1956年组建新山高级社。[2][5]

1958年10月公社化后，划为湖洋公社的一个大队；1959年10月划出，单设湖洋公社新山大队。1968年成立革领组，1980年设管委会大队，1984年改为湖洋乡新山村民委员会，2013年改属湖洋镇。[2][5]

村辖六个自然村，共8个村民小组，村委会驻地在磜里自然村；概况页则写为5个自然村。[2][3]

概况[edit]

全村152户、578人（统计年份未注明），低保户有9户26人。计生方面，二女结扎户8户，独生子女户23户，全村已连续8年被评为计生合格村。村内没有小学和幼儿园，进村水泥路面宽3米。[3]

村内耕地525亩，山林5121亩，土地面积5646亩。由于离县城近，多数村民已到县城建房或定居，目前全村仅有12户40人留在村中。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予新山村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
