湖洋村位于湖洋镇中心，是镇人民政府所在的村庄，距县城约9公里，205国道穿过村境。村名的来历是：明代此地称竹山下，清代称赤岭下，清末民国初年东面三角塘一带有大片湖洋田，因此得名。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时这里设湖洋保，隶属信和区。1949年解放初叫湖洋村，划入第十一区（信和区）；1951年7月改称湖洋乡，1953年1月并入湖光乡。[2][4]

1956年组建湖洋高级社，1958年公社化后改为湖洋公社湖光管理区的湖洋大队。1966年并入湖光大队，1976年从湖光大队划出，称湖洋大队革领组。1980年设管委会，1984年改为湖洋乡湖洋村民委员会，2013年改属湖洋镇。[2][4]

沿革页列为9个自然村、15个村民小组，村委会驻地在牌下，位于湖洋集市南面约30米；概况页则写为8个自然村。[2][1]

全村537户、2145人，党员54人，女党员6人；耕地1605亩，山林8900亩（统计年份未注明）。村内是镇里政务、商贸与文化活动的集中地。[1]

荣誉[edit]

湖洋村在2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

2024年2月，湖洋村列为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。[1]
