梅溪村是旧县镇下辖的行政村，位于镇境北部，紫金山脚下，是镇内最大的行政村。[1]

村名的来历：数百年前，村中沿河的坝地上梅树成林，旧县河从东南方顺流而下，故称梅溪。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

唐代，此地曾设军事要寨，称梅溪寨。[1]

土地革命时期设有梅溪乡苏，属旧县区苏维埃。民国时为三益乡的梅溪保。解放后以上坊、下坊、梅溪三处各设农会，1953年仍保留梅溪乡的建制，1956年设高级社。[3]

1958年起撤区并乡，当年冬天公社化，此地成为旧县公社的梅溪营。1959年改为梅溪管理区，后改大队。1961年划归梅溪公社，称梅溪大队；1965年重归旧县公社，1966年起归红岩公社，1984年改为旧县乡梅溪村民委员会，2012年改称旧县镇梅溪村民委员会。[3]

地理环境与经济[edit]

村子沿205国道而建，距上杭县城13公里，离镇政府约15公里。金铜矿产地位于紫金山脚下，即紫金矿业集团的金铜矿。[1]

历史人文[edit]

民国以来，村中设有中心小学，后改为完小，培养并输送了一批人才。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2021年1月，梅溪村被命名为「2020年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[2]
  • 2023年1月，梅溪村被命名为「2022年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[2]
