铁场村是旧县镇下辖的行政村，位于镇西南中部，205国道穿村而过。村子距镇政府3公里，离县城约18公里。[1]

村名的来历：很早以前人们在此发现铁矿与锰矿，并有炼铁加工的场地，后人便称此地为铁场。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

土地革命时期村子属尧铁乡苏，并在上牛角屋设过乡苏。民国时属三益乡的尧场保，下设麻坝、铁北两个甲。[3]

1949年解放初成立旧县区尧石乡铁场村农会，1956年并入尧铁高级社，1958年公社化后编入旧县公社的尧铁营铁场连。此后改为大队，1966年改为红岩公社铁场大队，1984年改为旧县乡铁场村民委员会，2012年改称旧县镇铁场村民委员会。[3]

地理环境与经济[edit]

村中耕田814.9亩，山林6569亩，其中山态公益林4700亩。村子地下矿藏丰富，有铜、铁、锰、铅、锌等。[1]

村子是全县缺水重旱的村子之一，历来靠电灌站抽水灌溉农田。村中以种粮为主，也发动村民种植烤烟，并有养猪、养鸡的大户数户。[1]
