古石村位于临城镇境内，村名意指在古石岩顶背（南坡）一带。[1]

村中山林约7463亩，耕地约850亩，另有旱地约320亩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时此地为古石保，1949年解放初属附城区古石乡。1952年改称古石村，隶石玉乡；此后1955年建古石初级社，次年并入石玉高级社。[2]

1958年公社化后称城郊公社古石大队，1961年改属梅溪公社，1965年复归城郊公社。1984年起为城郊乡下属村，1986年改属临城乡，1993年由临城镇管辖。[2]
