下坑村是童坊镇东北部的行政村，距集镇5.5公里。村名因地势低洼、山坑较长而得。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

据博雅地名网，全村1107人，分为10个村民小组，耕地1446亩，山林19600亩，其中竹林200亩（年份未注）。党员共33人，女党员6人，大学生党员3人。[1]

经济上以烤烟为重，年种植1200多亩，收烟叶3000多担。养殖方面有养猪、养鸡、养鸭的专业户。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初此地属童坊区彭坊乡。1958年撤区并乡后仍归彭坊乡；公社化时划入红星公社彭坊管理区。1964年由新桥工委统辖，隶属彭坊公社，设下坑大队。1984年改设下坑村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

下坑村先后被命名为「2020年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」和「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」，命名时间依次为2021年1月和2024年1月。[1]

据县政府网站，下坑村获评「福建省最美乡村」。[2]
