河头村在峰市镇的西南角，与仙师的石鼓村为邻。它处在棉花滩大坝的上游，是最先遇到的一个村落，也是一个整体搬迁的移民村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此处临汀江，清乾隆（1749年）时划入上杭分县，并以砖石垒筑城墙，因而得名河头。[2]

村子早先叫河头城。明万历四年（1576年）在此建城，明代的河头城便是与峰市并称“两城”的一座。清初至1935年，河头城与峰市同属上杭管辖。[1]

1936年起它归峰市特种区管理，由省政府直接领导；1940年3月31日，特种区取消，此村改属永定县。[1]

新中国成立后，它划入第九区，名为三河乡，1958年又归上水乡。公社化以后称三河大队，1976年分出，改称河头大队；1984年6月设河头村民委员会。[2]

2021年11月，河头村被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；同年12月，又被命名为「2021年度福建省森林村庄」。2011年，河头村曾被评为福建省「平安库区先进村」。[1]

经济[edit]

2023年12月，河头村被认定为「2023年度福建省一村一品专业村」，产品为莲雾。[1]
