吴屋村地处高山盆地，西连楼下村，北接新南村。村名的来历：原先村里大队部设在学校旁，故称新学；因村民多姓吴，又名吴屋。[1]

2021年6月，村里入选福建省第四批省级传统村落名单。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1961年5月设四个大队，称吴屋大队；1965年冬并入其他大队，1977年又分为四个大队，吴屋大队因原有大队部建有学校一所而取名新学大队。1984年8月建乡，称湖坑乡吴屋村民委员会。[3]

1984年8月建乡后，村级组织为湖坑乡吴屋村委会；1993年乡改为镇，沿用吴屋村委会名称。[3]

地理环境[edit]

村子处在高山盆地中，距湖坑集镇6公里。据博雅地名网，村内的金连山、文昌池、保安堂、出米石、人仔石和三磨石等都是永定金丰里的主要风景点。[2]

经济[edit]

村里主要农产品有红柿和烤烟，水果产量较大，远销外地。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中仍保存完好的永衍楼是一座土楼，其子孙为生产生活修建了远昌桥，桥至今已有七百多年历史。[2]
