下湖村是湖雷镇的行政村，村子临上湖溪，靠近永定河，是镇区所在的村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村子位于湖雷境内永定河的下段，当地人便称之为下湖，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年村内各自然村并为一个生产大队，1984年建乡后改设下湖村民委员会。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中的庆兴寺建于宋代，原名听经寺，晨昏间经声与钟声远闻。民国后寺院改作学堂，1929年又在寺内设立全县的苏维埃政府。[2]

清光绪年间建的新顺昌店位于湖雷新街。1929年5月红四军第二次入闽进驻湖雷，毛泽东等人会后入住该店。店内的「毛泽东同志旧居」与「红四军政治部旧址」已由永定县人民政府定为革命文物保护单位。[2]

经济[edit]

水运时期，村内上街头、中街与老街一带是本县主要的商品集散地。清光绪年间又辟出新街，以缓解商贾拥挤，下街尾的水运码头一度被称为「小香港」。[2]

著名人物[edit]

明末官员詹天颜（1595～1652年）为下湖村人，1620年参加童子试获第一名，后任四川石泉县知县、龙安府知府。[4]

文化[edit]

下湖村于2021年11月获评「2021年福建省卫生村」，由省爱卫办确定。[1]
