后埔村位于岩山镇西部，在镇政府驻地芹元村西面约2.5公里处，西南与铁山镇相邻，北与雁石镇交界，是通往龙岩市区的门户。[1]

村名的来历：村附近丘陵上有一片大草埔，村子原名厚埔，后取「厚」的谐音「后」为名。另有一说，村附近土丘前有草坪，村子坐落在草坪后部，故名后埔。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地先属内山联保，后并入一个保。解放后归入芹山乡，1956年加入农业高级社，1962年设龙元大队，1965年改设龙青大队，1975年又并入其他大队，1984年归属邻村的村委会，1987年分出，单独设立后埔村委会。[1]

2021年11月，村子由福建省爱卫办命名为2021年福建省卫生村。2023年1月、2024年1月，村子先后被命名为2022年度、2023年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子所在处是岩山镇境内海拔最低之地，周边群山延绵，有大面积的原始森林和人工林。[1]

自然资源有煤矿、石灰石和铁矿，地下水资源较为丰富。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中有「三公王」庙、圣母庙。[1]
