石壁村是临江镇下辖的行政村，与水北街镇相邻。村名原作「石壁后」：临河一侧岩壁高十余米，望去如同石壁，而村子位于其后，故名。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时属临江镇。1950年代先后隶属临江乡、第三区和临江区，1958年起隶属临江公社，1961年分出石壁大队，1984年改为今名。[4]

2022年12月，石壁村被福建省爱国卫生运动委员会定为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]

经济[edit]

2012年，全村农民人均纯收入为7892元。[2]
