埔上村在顺昌县北部，处于埔上镇的南端，临富屯溪而立。村子由埔上、回垄、田头、万全坑、杨厝五个自然村组成，以埔上为主村。2009年时，这五个自然村已基本连成一体，沿顺阳公路分布。[1]
埔上村的地名传说与一户廖姓人家有关：早年有人在此开店，常有人来店铺，店名叫作「铺上」，因“铺”与“埔”在当地方言中同音，遂写作埔上。[1]
埔上村在2022年10月获评「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」，认定机关为福建省农业农村厅。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1948年设埔全堡，驻地埔上，属大干第三区。1952年设埔上乡，仍归大干第三区；1959年称埔上大队，隶大干公社；1961年划归埔上公社。1984年起称埔上村民委员会，归埔上乡管辖。[1]
