埔上镇位于顺昌县西北部，镇境临富屯溪，316国道穿境而过。镇域以烟叶、柑橘和水稻为主要农作物。1984年建乡，1990年代初撤乡建镇。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

镇名「埔上」有一种说法，据博雅地名网所载：早年一户廖姓人家在此开店，往来的人常到店铺去，店名便叫「铺上」，后因当地方言中「铺」与「埔」读音相同，写作埔上。[2]

镇域古称莒浔，起始年代无从考证。据明正德年间（1506年）的《顺昌邑志》，当时顺昌县分为4乡28都58图，今埔上辖区分布在其中3乡6都，这种划分延续到清末。[1]

据传唐末延陵郡吴侃的后裔曾在花凤岭（今大布村一带）开基。[1]

民国时镇域经两次改制，分属沙口乡和大干乡。1949年至1961年，今镇域全部归大干区（公社）管辖。1961年后镇域一度分为埔上、大布两个公社，1966年两者合并为埔上公社。1984年建乡，此后辖区划分没有变化。[1]

撤乡建镇的年份，博雅地名网记为1994年，百度百科记为1993年。2014年7月，住房和城乡建设部等七部委把埔上列为「全国重点镇」；2021年2月，埔上镇列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2][4]

镇域位于顺昌县西北部，镇境临富屯溪，316国道与县道徐大线穿境而过。博雅地名网载镇域面积约207平方千米，百度百科载为203.15平方千米，两者均未注明年份。[1][2][4]

据2025年1月发布的顺昌县人民政府网站乡镇概况，镇内耕地有2.94万亩，人均耕地1.4亩；林地的规模为30.59万亩，另有77.65%的森林覆盖率。[1]

乡镇概况载常住人口1.23万人。另有外出流动人口0.86万人，约占总人口的39%。[1] 百度百科载2019年末户籍人口为20586人。[4]

经济[edit]

农业以烟叶、柑橘和水稻为主。烟叶种植面积4100余亩，约占全县三分之一强；水稻种植面积1800余亩；柑橘种植面积16000余亩，其中芦柑10830亩。[1]

镇内设有万全民营工业小区和口前工业平台。[3]

顺昌县人民政府网站的乡镇概况列出镇内古建筑12处、古遗址7处，其中古建筑有沙口吉祥寺、双舟尾通天大圣祭坛等。[1]

县级文物保护单位中，各处的时代分别为：河墩村后山古窑址为宋元，沙口吉祥寺为明代，官山窑遗址为宋代，口前门楼为清代，双舟尾通天大圣祭坛为明代。其中沙口为土丰村下辖的自然村。[5][6][7][8][9][10]
