新溪村是麻沙镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域西部，东距镇政府约4公里[1][2]。村名的来历是溪道因流水冲击改道，形成一条新溪，村因此更名[2]。

概况[edit]

新溪村建村于公元1313年[2]。全村总面积22.02平方公里，计263户995人，辖5个自然村、9个村民小组[2]。

村民以农业为主，山上竹木资源丰富，改革开放后发展竹木加工，村民收入随之提高[2]。

革命历史[edit]

上世纪三四十年代，村中井窠自然村曾为福建省委机关驻地，新溪村是革命老区基点村[2]。

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网称，村子在清代一度叫黄墩，溪道原在溪边山脚，后水流冲改河道，遂改名新溪[2]。
