香山村位于闽江北岸，三面环山、一面临江，是水口电站库区的全淹村，距樟湖集镇约5公里。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据1993年《南平市志·地名志》，村名因山中多种桂树、香气满山而得。[1]

明初（1368年）此地属南平县垂裕乡长安北里。1934年为新溪乡下的武香保，1946年并入樟湖镇；此后经武步乡、樟湖区、溪口公社等变动，1963年并入樟湖公社并称香山大队，1984年改设香山村委会。[1]

2021年11月，香山村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；同年12月，被认定为「2021年度南平市绿盈乡村中级版村庄」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

苍峡石刻位于本村，溪涧两侧的峭壁上有宋代至清代的多方题刻，列为区级文物保护单位。其中一方据载为朱熹手迹。[3][4]

著名人物[edit]

陈一堂（1910—1976）生于香山村，早年任樟湖中心小学校长，1943年被选为樟湖镇农会理事长。[5]
