桂花社区位于铜陵镇中心区。社区所在位置旧时方言称“鬼子巢”，居民嫌其不吉，改取与普通话“桂花树”谐音的“桂花”二字为名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

桂花街道居委会于1980年3月由桥雅街道分拆而设；2001年11月，该居委会改组为桂花社区居民委员会。[1]

2021年2月，桂花社区入选「2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]
