东北社区位于南诏镇中心区，辖地原本是东关与北关的一部分，故有此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前属东北镇，编有二保二甲社，其中包括广美保与和平保。解放后改设一街三片，归城关区第七街所辖。[1]

1969年街道合并之际，把长兴-打石街等七条小巷并入第六街，许厝寨、百岁祠等十一条小巷划归第八街；1979年10月恢复第七街之名，1981年改为东北街，2003年改称东北社区。[1]
