下坑村是佛昙镇下辖的行政村，位于镇东北部，北靠大荟山，南面濒临江海。全村有19个村民小组，自然村计下坑、柑仔脚与石前三处。村内有大荟山岩画等古迹。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地旧称霞坑，因西北、东北两面靠山，南面临江海，改音为下坑。[2]

明代此地归十七都石门下里，清代为石门下保的地界。1940年它划归佛昙先锋保；新中国成立初期，下坑是佛昙区下辖的下坑乡。1958年9月组建下坑生产大队，之后按镇建制设为行政村。[2]

人口与姓氏[edit]

户主多为佛昙杨氏三房的后人。村老年活动中心设在杨氏三房祖祠「守知堂」。[2]

经济[edit]

耕地1897亩，其中水田850亩；虾池2000亩。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

大荟山岩画共六组。博雅地名网称，国际岩画委员会（隶属联合国科技文组织）的专家在1993年5月作过鉴定，认为它出自商周之前的先民之手，县里定为文物保护单位。[2]

漳浦县人民政府网站则说大荟山上有五千年前的岩画，两说并录，以待更多来源核定。[3]

大荟山山腰有海日岩，内有明代建的寺庙；村中另有花岗岩石塔「文峰塔」，高约25米。[2]
