西林村地处火田镇西南，离镇政府14公里，离城关5公里。村内的西林城旧址，据称是唐代陈元光开漳时设立府衙的地方。[1]

得名[edit]

建村之前，这里原是大片树林。村址选在林缘，又临漳水西岸，故名西林。[1]

沿革[edit]

解放后，本地先后组织互助组，继而办起初级社和高级社。之后在1966年设西林大队，此后到1984年才称西林村。[1]

生产[edit]

村中种植蔬菜、龙眼和荔枝，村民人均收入7300元。[1]

古迹[edit]

西林张氏家庙始建于明代正德年间，即1509年；清同治三年（1864年）经过重建，1945年又加修缮。2013年，它被福建省列入第八批省级文物保护单位。[2]

西林五通庙也叫广平尊王庙，现存的是清代建筑，建筑面积465平方米。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2016年5月，福建省政府把西林村列为「第五批福建省历史文化名镇名村」。[1]
