木棉村是福建省漳州市龙海区九湖镇下辖的行政村，位于漳州南门外约13公里处，国道324线与县道林棉线穿境而过。[1]

村名的来历：村里有座木棉庵，庵前有木棉树，村因此得名。[1]

木棉亭[edit]

村中九龙岭下有木棉亭，亭的得名与南宋末年郑虎臣在木棉庵一带处决权臣贾似道的事有关。亭为省级文物保护单位。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村委会称谓：1984年时为龙海县九湖乡木棉村委会，1993年起为龙海市九湖镇木棉村委会。[1] 1959年村属九湖公社木棉大队，新中国成立初期属第一区木棉乡，1947年隶属古南乡，1939年则为龙溪县邹林乡木棉保。[1]
