古城村位于港尾镇东南部，南太武山脚下，201漳云线公路从村中穿过。村名的来历与早先称作「鼓城」的城池有关。[1]

名称来历[edit]

据博雅地名网，村中原先建有一座城池，平面形状如鼓，因此被称作「鼓城」。「鼓城」与「古城」读音相近，后来便以古城为名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期这里是海澄县港尾镇的古城、古山两保。新中国成立初设为第三区的古城乡，1959年并入港尾公社，成为古城大队。两县合并后，它归龙海县管辖，仍在港尾公社之下。[1]

1984年，乡里设古城村；1988年港尾乡改镇，村名随之改为港尾镇古城村；1993年又改为龙海市港尾镇古城村委会。[1]

地理与水利[edit]

村中有安南、横屿两座水库。村民以种植水稻、甘薯、花生和蔬菜为主，果林地面积也较大。[1]
