西林村位于洪濑镇西部、东溪西岸，全村21个自然村分为西湖、西林、南集三片。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

洪濑镇辖区东溪两岸的部分村落，东岸称东林，西岸称西林。本村位于东溪西岸，因此得名。[1]

此地旧属南安十九都，民国时期分作湖尾保与官路保两个保。新中国成立后先设西林乡；1957年曾叫洪西高级社，1958年定名西林大队，至1984年才成为洪濑镇西林村民委员会。[2]
