和安村位于九都镇西北部，距镇政府驻地约16千米，村庄坐落在观音山脚，邻近山美水库上游的岸边，下辖七个自然村[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

古时村境山腰间檺树茂密，故称檺树垵。因地处偏僻，治安一度不靖；1949年后治安恢复安定，村名遂改为和安[1][2]。

民国时设檺树垵保；1949年改用今名，1958年建大队，1984年起为村委会，1991年12月纳入镇级建制[2]。

文化[edit]

村中设有一所完全小学[2]。
